By applying the art of  ‘Fengshui’ (the ancient Chinese practice of arranging physical objects to attract positive energy. It’s based on the idea that everything in a person’s surrounding environment affects his or her inner life) to your work space you can be sure to maximize working efficiency.

A neat and orderly office space clears the way for higher productivity and less wasted time.

Designated Office Space

A dedicated space will keep you motivated. It has be known that people use their couch, or dining room table to work. This is a big no no for productivity. If you have an additional room, that is great, if not, turn an area of your home into a strict work area. Pinterest has lots of inspiration if you need some creative assistance.

Purge Your Office

De-clutter and remove anything unnecessary. This includes paperwork, furniture, and anything gathering dust.

Storage

Everything you use frequently should be in close proximity. Things you rarely use can be stored away in boxes or cupboards.

Labels

Take time to label shelves, storage units and boxes. Not only will it remind you where items should be placed, it will also be a great aid to anyone else who will be using your work area.

Files & Shelving

Shelving with neatly stacked files take up minimal space but leave easy enough access when you want to retrieve information without having to hunt far.

In Trays

These are really useful. We like to have 3 trays. One for ‘ Tasks’, one for ‘ Started but need to complete’ and one for ‘Completed’.

Filing

Set aside time in your weekly schedule to file and shred any unwanted items.

Personalise Your Desk

You want your work area to be a space you enjoy .Some pictures of family or a  preferred piece of wall art can give you a mental boost.
